We are a research group at the interface of theoretical condensed matter physics and computational materials science. We investigate hidden electronic phases in quantum materials that can be induced through nonlinear vibrational excitations of the atoms in a solid, also called nonlinear phononics.

Forming a new community:

Chiral Phonons in Quantum Materials

The first international workshop focusing on the rapidly expanding field
of chiral phonons, hosted at CECAM Lugano in Switzerland, has been a big success. We brought together experts from different communities working on chiral phonons and are looking forward to building a diverse and international community.
